On Android we find a large selection of keyboards available to use on the phone. Although there are some options that are especially popular with users, such as Gboard (Google’s keyboard). There is another keyboard that enjoys great popularity in the operating system , which is SwiftKey. A keyboard that we can get a lot of use out of.
SwiftKey isn’t a keyboard I know about as often as Gboard, but it has plenty of options. There are a series of tricks with which we can customize the use of this keyboard on the phone, in order to get the most out of it. Here are some of these tricks so you can use it on Android.
SwiftKey: You can now sync the clipboard with Android devices
Microsoft now allows Windows 10 and Android users to sync their clipboards through the SwiftKey software keyboard. This is enabled in the current SwiftKey Android beta app. You can turn it on in the “Rich Input” area and then again in “Clipboard” where “Clipboard History Sync” is.
In Windows 10, activation is possible in system settings in the clipboard settings area. If you have enabled the feature on both Windows 10 and Android, you should now have cross-system access to the clipboard through SwiftKey Keyboard. The most recently copied content will arrive in the cloud and stay there for one hour. Works with SwiftKey Beta 7.8.5 or newer.
Microsoft notes that a Microsoft account is required and that you must be using at least Windows 10 with the October 2018 Update or newer. Cross System Clipboard works with SwiftKey for Android, there is currently no option on Apple iOS. The Redmond company also ensures that clipboard data is encrypted and not linked to your account.
For Samsung users, there was already an option to share the clipboard via “Link to Windows”. Now, however, all Android users will be able to enjoy it through SwiftKey.
